“Oracle went through many different designs – some depicted it as more of an Archmage or a Spiritualist, but the inspiration for the Greek aesthetic came from the ability name, the Aegis, which is often depicted as a legendary shield in Greek Mythology. The first design was based on a sketch I liked, however it didn’t really turn out that great upon completion – it also certainly missed a bit of a punch which I wanted for the design of a new character. I went back to the drawing board hoping to come up with something cooler, and while just generally looking at Greek imagery, I noticed the way the Aegis was designed in a lot of art kind of looked like an owl’s face? The original design was always gonna have a shield companion, but the idea of having an Owl Companion for the role to represent that slot was way too cool to pass up on, and I tried to incorporate much more elements into the silhouette which clearly communicated the Greek aesthetic, such as a Laurel Crown and a Toga, compared to the old design. In-Game Role Information – New Role: Oracle

• During the night, the Oracle may select a Town role to cast their Aegis over. Any players in the game with that role will be protected with a Barrier.
• The Oracle cannot select the same role two nights in a row, and can only select Oracle one time.
